Help Is Here

How We Can Help

We provide free and confidential services to men, women, and children affected by domestic violence, human trafficking, homicide and other violent crimes.

24 Hour Crisis Hotline

Our hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Victims, survivors, friends, family members – anyone can call and visit with our professional and compassionate advocates.  Someone is always available to dispatch in emergency situations.  No matter the day or time – we’re here for you.

Crisis Counseling

Counseling is provided completely free of charge and is always confidential.  Our advocates provide emotional support and empathetic listening.  We provide counseling to clients in crisis as well as those that need it for continued healing.

Safety Planning

Safety planning is a useful tool in determining the best ways for you to remain safe in various situations.  It involves ways to cope with emotions, speak about your abuse, seek legal help and more.  When in crisis situations, it’s often hard to think clearly and make logical decisions about your safety.  Making a personalized plan, even if some aspects may seem obvious, can help you protect yourself.

Our advocates will help you develop your personalized safety plan.  Types of safety planning include:

  • Staying safe while in an abusive relationship
  • Children and pets
  • Pregnancy
  • Emotional
  • Leaving and After
  • Legal

Emergency & Transitional Housing

We have housing available for all situations.

Information & Referral

If you’re not sure if you need our services, just give us a call.  Even if what we offer doesn’t best suit your needs, we can help you find the right resources in your community.

Legal, Personal & Mobile Advocacy

Advocate by definition means to support another person or cause.  We’re here to support all victims and survivors of domestic violence.  We provide aid in filing legal documents, such as protection orders, and court accompaniment.  We will help provide you with all of your available options.  Our advocates are mobile – we will travel to meet with you as needed.

Support Groups

Support groups are established as needed in our various counties.  These groups offer a chance for victims & survivors to encourage and comfort one another, as well as heal together.  Support groups offer a safe place to share or just listen. Currently, we have a support group available in Carroll, Iowa.  Contact us to join.  If you’re interested in having a support group in your area, please contact us.
